Silver haired goats energize an open-air market full of colorful characters. Rwandans often bring goats to markets like these in the hopes of earning much needed extra income for the family. They are highly valued because they are easy to raise—they can graze on poor land and produce 2-3 kids a year—and produce several quarts of milk each day that can either be drunk or used for making cheese and yogurt.
