Herds of zebra sport in the lush grasslands of Rwanda’s Akagera National Park near the shores of the vast blue Lake Ihema. They share this region with buffalo, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, hundreds of bird species, and recently re-introduced populations of lions and black rhinos. The Kagera River, which runs through it and from which the park get its name, is thought by some to be the source of the Nile.
