The Masai giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) is the species indigenous to Rwanda.  They are found in the grasslands of the Akagera National Park in the eastern part of the country.  Fewer than 40,000 remain in the wild, though reports of poaching suggest the number is significantly lower.  This “mirror image” composition captures the serene beauty of the species in their natural habitat.
