This depicts “Ingoma Nshya,” Rwanda’s first women’s drumming group, which is composed of young women who are the children of genocide victims and genocide perpetrators. They perform together to add a female dimension to Rwanda’s music culture as well as to bring about healing through their reconciliation. They have also begun Rwanda’s first-ever ice cream parlor called Inzozi Nziza (“Sweet Dreams”) created in cooperation with Blue Marble Ice Cream of Brooklyn, New York. A documentary film, also called Sweet Dreams, tells their story.
