This work exalts Rwanda’s harvest. The foodstuffs–corn, beans, fruits and vegetables–are rendered in great detail with textured stitches (see details below) in this large wall hanging.
Almost half of Rwanda’s gross domestic product comes from agriculture, and more than 87% of Rwandans earn their living from it. According to AMIS (Rwanda’s Agricultural Management Information System), agriculture in Rwanda is “the main national source of foreign currency and survival for the population.”
